A very merry time was had at the Polar Express Extravaganza. The museum teamed up with the library to bring this successful library event to the old train depot. We were able to make the Metal Spiral Wreath event even more fun and add more activities. We created a light display on Engine 11, had activities and Christmas displays in the main building, created 2 photo spots, and served hot chocolate to all.
Thanks to everyone who attended our workshop! You can download the handout here

The Tooele High School band took time off from summer practice this week to perform service at the Tooele Valley Museum. They sure left their mark! Ian Small coordinated this outstanding event for his Eagle Scout project. Band members worked hard in the blaring summer heat to unbury train rails in the park, landscape near our front entry, organize our collection, create detailed floor plans, move many heavy objects, and build 12 benches.
We will use the benches in our newly repurposed military train car so we can show videos to visitors and host more events.
Thank you to the marvelous band for their hard work and to Ian for organizing it for us.
We had a fantastic time when the Fridays in the Park visited the museum this year! The theme was wizarding adventures, and we all had a magical experience. Thank you to the Parks Department and Library Staff that made it possible
